Organ recital features organist Weicheng Zhao, Oakwood Brass Chamber Ensemble

The cathedral’s weekly Wednesday organ recital featured organist Weicheng Zhao, together with the Oakwood Brass Chamber Ensemble, for an uplifting performance.
At the invitation of Jean Guillou, Zhao played a solo recital in Paris at the Saint-Eustache Festival d’orgue 2011.
In 2012, Zhao won First Prize and the Audience Prize in the Sixth Miami International Organ Competition, as well as First Prize in the organ division of the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition.
Joining him, the Oakwood Brass Chamber Ensemble presents music that is fun and lively to audiences using the classical brass quintet sound.
The group currently presents a wide range of exciting programming featuring music from a large assortment of genres including classical, jazz, Americana, and popular media.
This modern modern brass quintet aims to revitalize brass chamber music performances with music composed for oakwood brass or written for classical brass quintets.
