+ The final discourse, or the high priestly prayer of Jesus, or the prayer for unity.
Simply put, this is an extraordinary discourse of Jesus as he prays for his disciples now and in the future.
Could anyone ever doubt how much Jesus wants unity for all so that all could know him and the Father and sharetheir life?
It certainly validates and proclaims the verse in the Responsorial Psalm today: “You will show me the path to life, fullness of joys in your presence, the delights at your right hand forever.”
Let us pray
+ That’s my prayer, Lord, as you offer me unity with you, the Father, and all of the disciples, and potentially all who long for life and goodness and peace and joy and wholeness.
+ Lord, show me the path to life. Grant me fullness of joys your presence. Allow me to delight at your right hand — forever! Amen!
