+ There is a “pocket of space” inside us (I call it the spirit, or soul) where our deepest, deepest, deepest thoughts and dreams and hopes and fears and desires and longings, etc., occur and reside.
Some seldom go in there. Some open it frequently in prayer and reflection. It is our grand calling in Christ to go there often in prayer and reflection.
“Do you love me?” Jesus asks Peter three times — just like Peter’s three denials. Peter responds with angst. (“Why do you keep asking me?”)
But Jesus “led him” to that place of spirit and soul to heal and then, interestingly, to “call him.”
+ Paul was led through a myriad of dangerous twists and turns to voice his appeal to be heard by Caesar.
Wow! Right to the top!
He spoke with clarity and fearlessness, and claimed his rights and stood up to all. Where did he find that within, if not in his spirit and soul?
+ Some like to refer to this as liminal space — spirit and soul. Strange and wonderful things happen there in others, in you, in me.
Let us pray
+ Lord lead me, call me, show me, find me, help me, suspend me, upend me, try me, reveal in me, use me, love me and help me to know and proclaim my love for you in that ‘pocket of space’ I call my spirit and soul!
