Celebrating a tiny bit of faith

A reflection on the daily readings by Father Perry.
+ Did the two blind men get their sight back and then they believed. Or did they believe and then got their sight back?
The story is clear: It was the latter.
From the tiny kernal of faith, amazing and miraculous things can happen. The story confirms that a little bit of faith that we have certainly then can grow (our faith) even stronger.
Listen to Isaiah: “The blind will see … the deaf will hear … the lowly will find joy … the poor will rejoice!”
But something else is going on. Real faith leads to real growth, life, and love.
Flimsy faith reveals and allows the arrogant and the tyrant and those who do evil to be cut off and to lose what little faith they have.
The difference between their little faith is that it might not be faith at all, but one of those insurance policies that they have taken out to guarantee admittance into heaven or simply to guarantee salvation.
The tiny kernel of faith of the simple and poor and humble is true faith that with a tiny breeze can turn into a forest fire of believing, loving, growing, responding, following, rejoicing, birthing, and discovering.
Tiny faith that is real faith causes the amazing and the miraculous to occur.
+ The Psalmist says it, sings it, believes it, celebrates it and in faith announces it with total clarity and conviction: “The Lord is my light and my salvation.”
