+ It’s all perspective. Kind of like the real estate phrase, “Location, location, location!”
A gorgeous 20-room home that might seek $15 million in one location might only cost $3 million in another location; it is all perspective.
And so the crowds followed Jesus and his disciples everywhere; they could not escape them. They could not even sit down and eat.
They finally tried to escape to a deserted place to “get some rest”; and when the crowds found out, they followed them there, too.
Perspective. “When Jesus disembarked and saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.”
Oh, those poor sheep. Oh, they need so much. Oh, forget the resting and eating and just being peaceful for awhile; the sheep are hungry and thirsty and need to learn so much.
Or, “They were like sheep without a shepherd.”
But wow! We have found the shepherd!
Wow!
+ Hungry and thirsty as we are, we will have more than enough because of the shepherd — the Good Shepherd!
Wow!
We don’t need to worry about our sick, about our distressed, about our people with bad spirits, our hunger and thirst for understanding, our desire and need for God in our lives.
We have found the Good Shepherd, and the Good Shepherd will provide all that we need!
Wow!
It’s all perspective!
