How do we balance ‘liminal’ space?

A reflection on the daily readings for the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary, by Father Perry.
+ The themes return again and again. “Blessed is the one who fears [is in awe] of the Lord and is faithful.”
And God says again: “I’m warning you — your day will come.”
And God also says: “Just ask and it will be given to you.”
+ How do we balance all of these? How can all be true at the same time?
Maybe it helps to put all of this, once again, in that space that we call “liminal” space.
It is here and there at the same time. It is up but also down. It gives and it takes. It is one yet all. It is about to happen and about to be finished — somewhere in between.
And in all of the opposites and all of these paradoxes, the “liminal” space invites us to be uncomfortable, seeking and discovering — and all of that at its own pace in its own time, as it is revealed.
+ Can we sit there? Are we able to wait and to trust at the very same time? Are we OK with not having everything, including God, defined and in a box and under our control?
Can we sit at the edge of an edge, or stare across the sea — or now go into space in a rocket — and just drop our jaws in amazement at the beauty, grandeur, bigness, creativity and God-stuff that we had nothing to do with but somehow is there just for us!
Kinda.
