Listen. See. Take it into your heart.

A reflection on the daily readings, for Friday of the Second Week of Advent, by Father Perry.
+ Sometimes the word is so simple and so straightforward.
This is one of those times. Just listening to, and looking truly to see and taking it all into the heart, is the way to stay so connected to our God, the biblical God, and the God of the universe that so surrounds us and is in our every breath.
Just to stay connected. Then God proclaims: “Their name [their person — themselves] will never be cut off or blotted out from my presence.”
+ The psalm says it another way: “Those who follow you, Lord, will have the light of life.”
And the Gospel warns that some will not hear, nor see, nor take it into the heart and will miss it, misname it, judge it, falsify it, refuse it, and in their own way become disconnected!
And don’t blame God for it. God promised eternal connection, never cutting off or blotting away.
Listen! Listen! Listen!
