What could be more holy or wholesome than to walk with God?

A reflection on the daily readings, for Wednesday of the Third Week of Lent, by Father Perry.

+ “Live a wholesome life; and teach others to do the same!”

That says it simply, succinctly, clearly, and in a spirit of true wisdom and understanding — a wholesome life.

Wholesomeness is surely to be not confused, but rather equated with holiness.

And what could be more holy or wholesome than to walk with God, to feel and know that you are “in step” with the Holy One in harmony?

This is not to be confused with some regiment or abusive set of rules and commands.

These commands of the Lord are to establish justice — and care for the widow and orphan.

Moses.

And compassion, order, peace, respect, and the way for love to reign in the hearts and lives and actions of all.

Is such life possible?

Moses believed in it and taught it to his people.

Jesus believed in it and taught it to his disciples.

And through it all, Jesus not only proclaimed the kingdom of God, but he gave his followers the “keys to the kingdom,” and showed them how to truly live life and love life. and make life a real way to find wholeness and holiness.

“Your words, Lord, are spirit and life; you have the words of everlasting life.”
