God, present in our humanity, invites us into his divinity

A reflection on the daily readings by Father Perry.
+ Why do we believe in him in whom we believe? Why do we believe the words that fall from his lips? Why do they penetrate so deeply into our minds/hearts/souls?
The letter to the Hebrews tells it in the most poetic of language, with the most striking imagery, with a perfectly synchronized theological understanding and appreciation and revelation of who he is, what he tells us, why it is so significant, and how it is so connected with our God — it is from God, it is God.
The Christ reveals it all, and this is described in Hebrews today.
This “penetrating word of God gets into and in between the joints and marrow, the soul and spirit.”
This “penetrating word of God discerns reflections and thoughts of the heart.”
It is all wrapped up perfectly in the person of the Christ — the word made flesh — that has dwelt among us, that has become us, that invites us to become him.
Christ penetrates, elevates, perpetuates, resonates, alleviates, designates, accentuates, permeates, and more!
This is God present in our humanity inviting us into his divinity.
What a mystery! What a word! What an invite and opportunity!
No wonder this word, in the person of the Christ, comes particularly to sinners and those in need, and not the righteous.
The word comes to those who are seeking, wanting, hoping, needing, waiting, discerning, falling and rising, sinning and repenting, and ever in need and want of a penetrating word of God to enter and give life at the deepest and most profound depths of soul and spirit.
