Cathedral parish community’s first seminarian celebrates his inaugural Mass

The first seminarian to be ordained from the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels parish community will celebrate his first Mass.

Father Egren Gomez will preside over the 10 a.m. Mass on June 3.

“On my pilgrimage to the priesthood, I rediscovered the brilliant light of Christ dwelling within us,” said Father Gomez. “We are all children of light! I am bursting with enthusiasm and exuberance to spread this Good news! I recall the words at our baptism: ‘Receive the light of Christ … this light is entrusted to you to be kept burning brightly.’ I humbly say that by the grace of God, I am ready to keep the cathedral light burning brightly! To give the light of Christ to all people!”
