No scriptures until tonight, but let us rest now

There are no scripture readings until tonight when the Easter Vigil will be celebrated.
Today, so to speak, there is an eerie silence as we celebrate Jesus’ silent rest in the tomb. Later, all heaven will break out with an abundance of scripture stories from creation, Abraham, and Moses to Jesus.
Later today, we will celebrate with the ringing of bells, the singing of alleluias, and the rising of Jesus the Christ.
For now, let us rest, too.
